"who is ever going to believe us again?"

Formerly maggieisabadass, I'm Marie, a twenty years-old nurse by day and fanfiction writer by night. This blog is a mess! I mostly post and reblog things about Maggie Smith, Judi Dench, Skyfall (you'll see a lot of that), Downton Abbey, House M.D/Huddy, NCIS/Jibbs, The Newsroom&Will/Mackenzie, Harry Potter and well, many other things. I photoshop a bit, the two sidebars gifs are mine
I probably won't message you or send you asks first but I will always answer you if you send me a message.
You've been warned.

I wanted to make a strong mother character. The portrayal of women in epic fantasy has been problematical for a long time. These books are largely written by men but women also read them in great, great numbers. And the women in fantasy tend to be very atypical women… They tend to be the woman warrior or the spunky princess who wouldn’t accept what her father lays down, and I have those archetypes in my books as well. However, with Catelyn there is something reset for the Eleanor of Aquitaine, the figure of the woman who accepted her role and functions with a narrow society and, nonetheless, achieves considerable influence and power and authority despite accepting the risks and limitations of this society. - GRRM on Catelyn Stark

belle french month: what you love about lacey

Lacey is Belle. But she’s like a perfect inverse of Belle at the same time. Belle is 90% understanding and 10% defiance. Lacey is 90% defiance and 10% understanding. Lacey gives zero fucks about whether or not people agree with her; her voice will be heard. Belle allows her voice to be heard, but accepts and values other people’s thoughts more than her own. Belle wants love, like she has with Rumple. Lacey wants physical affection, like with the Sheriff of Nottingham. But there are places where they meet in the middle, they are perfect mirror images of each other that coincide in a few aspects. They both want adventure, but of different types. They’re both well-mannered, shown when Lacey goes out with Rumple out of politeness, despite the fact that she really didn’t want to. The two aspects of the same character mesh perfectly, like Belle’s boldness and heroism in Dark Hollow. She’s still Lacey to a certain extent, but with Belle’s morals.
